This building was one several nearly identical schools designed by J. F. Alexander & Son around 1901-1905 (Others included the Linden and Mulberry schools). In 1915 the building was doubled in size and the fenestration was somewhat altered. A rare glass negative in the collection of the Tippecanoe County Historical Association shows the original ink perspective rendering of the 1915 remodeling and bears the name of J. F. Alexander & Son. The high school moved out in the 1930s and the building was demolished in the 1960s. A modernist-style church now stands on the site.
